![]() If I put an SSD in there, what exactly happens when I fill the disk and then empty it? Will performance degrade or is emptying the disk enough to fix it? Looking online theres all kinds of things about how exactly SSDs interact with XP. I'd like to replace its dead magnetic hard drive with an SSD as file access times are somewhat of an issue for it (it basically acquires large amounts of data that must then be copied off). ![]() Stupid question, but I need to fix an older piece of equipment with a dead hard drive that must be controlled via a Windows XP machine (so no TRIM).
